The Superdrug Edit

The Superdrug Edit

Hey, lovelies. ‘Where the bloody hell have you been’ I hear you cry, or at least I live in hope that I have a readership that has noticed my absence? One can dream. Yes, I’ve been absent again, sometimes this creative lark takes its toll. But today, I am back and with a little look at some of my favourite items in my Superdrug edit.

We all know Superdrug right? And we all go there to pick up our beauty essentials, yes? But, have you ever tried any of their own range items? If not, you’re missing out.

Superdrug own branded items

I first tried their ‘own brand’ around 6 years ago, when I suffered from Alopecia Areata (I will do a full post on this at a later date), which is if you didn’t know, an autoimmune condition where your body mistakes your hair for a foreign body. Meaning, your immune system attacks it, and in turn, your hair falls out.

When this happened, I immediately stopped using any chemicals on my hair and went on the hunt for more natural alternatives. I now know, this doesn’t make an ounce of difference to this condition, but I started to use a line of Superdrug’s own brand haircare.

Fast forward 6 years, hair has regrown, and I have an established love for Superdrugs own line of beauty items. But why?

Ok, firstly, and probably one of the most important to me. Their own brand of beauty, body, and baby products are 100% cruelty-free! This is massive for me. Where I can, I now always look for a Superdrug alternative to many high street products for purely this reason alone.

Secondly, they do some awesome products! I would be here all day giving you a rundown of everything ‘Superdrug’ in my bathroom cabinet, so I have picked out my top three that I really believe are worth a try.

So, let’s get to it.

B, Pure Micellar Oil

The first item is one that I have been using for years and is such a fantastic product that I just cannot highly recommend it enough, and that is the Pure Micellar Oil from their B range of skincare. Ignoring the 2.5-star review online, this stuff is heaven for the skin.

Not to be confused with a regular micellar, which I admit I did at first, used in the right way I promise you will love this as much as I do.

Unlike a micellar water, do not apply this to cotton pads and then onto the skin. This needs to be worked into a milky consistency with warm water in your hands before applying to the skin, Use as you would a cleanser and use either cotton pads (or my eco-friendly alternative) or a facial wash cloth to remove.

This removes the toughest of makeup and is my savour when I have been wearing false eyelashes. It’s the only thing that lifts away the glue.

You can pick this up for £6.99 at your local store. Keep your eye out for a 3 for 2 deal to grab this at an even bigger bargain than it already is.

Glowing Clay Mask

The second item on my must-have list is again from the B skincare range and is the Glowing Clay Mask.

Whilst being a mask, this also contains finely ground apricot granules to remove dead skin, multitasking! Winner! A blend of three natural clays, and red seaweed extract, this really does leave skin glowing.

I should mention that this can feel quite ‘active’ on the skin and there is a little tingle. I have eczema prone skin and my skin was able to tolerate this without a problem. It leaves your skin silky smooth, with an immediate glow. This outperforms in my opinion, many a higher-end alternative.

You can grab a trial pot of this in store for £2.99 and if you like it, the 50ml is £6.99. Again, keep an eye out for that 3 for 2 deal.

Solait Face Cream Fluid, Factor 50

Ok, so you know me. I love a sunscreen. You have seen me harp on about why you MUST add a sunscreen to your beauty routine. But a good product, under a fiver with both UVA and UVB protection? Yep, Superdrug Solait Face Cream Factor 50 is the one!

For £3.49, you get a broad-spectrum sun protection, which is suitable for both vegetarians and vegans and is full of anti-aging ingredients.

Again., don’t be put off by the reviews. Yes, this has an oily consistency if you use alone, but mix this in with your usual day moisturiser and makeup will sit over it like a dream.

You now have no excuse not to add a sunscreen to your beauty regime. Buy one less coffee this week!

So, there you have it, my top 3 from Superdrug.

I’d love to know of any products you love from Superdrug. If you have any recommendations, please do drop me a message.

For now,

L xx
