Glossybox UK August 2018 Review
The Glossybox UK August box is in, so let’s get straight to it.
This dropped through my letterbox last week and this month theme is Pride. They have stepped away from their usual branding and this month delivered us a box decorated in the full spectrum of colour that represents the LGBT community.
This months box
Ok, so where to start.
I am so disappointed with this box. So much so, I hardly have the enthusiasm to write this post. But I’m here to deliver the good and bad, and this one is bad.
Firstly, my box was missing an item. Emailed Glossybox, took four days to get a response. I am now having to wait for them to restock the item. Ok, there are bigger problems in the world, yep I get that, but not what you expect when you are paying £14 of your hard earned cash.
Secondly, the items are rubbish and I mean rubbish! This box is more suited to a 14-year-old teenager, not a 36-year-old woman.
Thirdly, and something that was pointed out to me by one of my lovely insta friends. Supporting Pride, or cashing in on Pride? I will leave you to make your own mind up on that one.
The subscription blurb
I really cannot recommend you purchase this box. If you are looking to subscribe, skip this one and wait for next months, but if you really want to purchase this, the standard subscription blurb is below.
If you’re new to Glossybox, it’s a beauty subscription box priced monthly at £10 plus P&P. You will receive 5 beauty products and is an awesome way to discover new brands. Your subscription is paid for in monthly intervals and you are free to cancel at any time.
I have a 20% off your first box discount, which you can redeem by entering code LOUISE-RJF at checkout. To find out a bit more about Glossybox or to subscribe, shop my Instagram HERE.
So, let’s take a look at the crappy contents.
Rimmel London, Ink Me Tattoos and Heart Stamp, full-size, RRP, £4.99. Just no, I am not 12! I can’t even bring myself to say anymore.
Victoria Secrets, Lets Pre Glam Perfecting Sheet Mast, full-size, RRP, £5.00. A hydrating sheet mask with hydraulic acid to soften and prep your face for a flawless makeup base.
Trifle Cosmetics, Lip and Cheek Jam, full-size, RRP, £17.50. Delivers a healthy flush of colour to cheeks and lips for up to 10 hours. If the RRP is right on this, I would never pay that for this product. Much like the Bodyshop lip and cheek stain, which if you can still get it is a fraction of the price.
Kaleido Cosmetics, Aastrolight HIghlighter, full-size, RRP, £13.00. An 8 hour wear liquid highlight. This brand is 100% cruelty-free and vegan and is actually quite a nice highlighter. The only product I will use from this box.
Missing item was 3INA Shadow Paint that I cannot comment on as I didn’t receive it, The product is full-size with an RRP of £8.95.
This is the worst box I have received from Glossybox in the whole time I have been a subscriber. I am so disappointed to the point that I think this may be the last review I post of Glossybox. Time to cancel the subscription I think.
In no way does this box scream Pride. If you are supporting such a fantastic movement, then really support it, not just deliver a box of mediocre products.
Last words from me, save your cash. Waste of time.
Well, that’s all from me. I hope you have enjoyed this little review (moan), and don’t forget to subscribe.
