Eco-Friendly Face Wipes
Hey. I’m back, with two posts in one week! As I am on a quest to become more sustainable with my beauty products, it got me thinking eco-friendly face wipes.
Last summer I wrote a post about reusable cotton rounds. I have to admit, I do still use these, however, actual cotton rounds had snuck their way back into my beauty routine. Not because I didn’t like the reusable ones, but more out of ease and convenience, which is often the way with beauty.
I hold my hands up. I find it easy to grab a thrown away cotton round to quickly remove my mascara in the evening when tired and not feeling a whole cleanse routine, Another confession. I’m not always brilliant at looking after my skin.
Ditching the cotton rounds. Again.
Ok, so whilst using a reusable cotton pad is great for the environment, there are times when I need something that is easy and disposable. It’s easy to find convenience, cheaply, but what about a face wipe that doesn’t leave you with an ethical conscience?
Well hello, Yes To.
What makes these different?
YES TO products work because we never compromise. Our products are always 100% free of toxic ingredients and 100% filled with love and laughter. They are at least 95% natural, free of parabens, and made with recyclable materials (keep mama earth happy!) yesto.co.uk
Great stuff. For me, the natural ingredients aren’t really my thing, as I believe beauty doesn’t have to be natural to be good for your skin. However, what I do believe in is sustainable, eco-friendly beauty that lowers the impact the beauty industry has on the environment.
The face wipes from Yes To are made with compostable, FSC certified fabric, meaning they won’t sit in a landfill for years to come.
I picked these up in coconut version, which is formulated with coconut water and kukui nut extract to help restore moisture to dry skin.
Heres the ingredients list.
Aqua, Polyglycerl-4 Caprate, Cocos Nucifera Oil*, Cocos Nucifera Water, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Musa Sapientum Fruit Extract, Psidium Guajava Fruit Extract, Orchis Mascula Flower Extract, Aleurites Moluccana Seed Extract, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Morinda Citrifolia Fruit Extract, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Tocopherol, Benzoic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Parfum. *Certified Organic Ingredient
They are also vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
Ok, so I think we can see, these are pretty good for the environment, but how do they perform when removing makeup.
Remove the day
These slot into my night time routine, I have swapped out my eye makeup remover and cotton rounds for these little eco-friendly face wipes.
I use them if I’ve had a really tough day and want a really quick cleanse, or just on my eyes and as an initial first cleanse on my face.
But do they work?
They remove my eye makeup effortlessly, and if you know me, you know I wear a lot of mascara! They make light work of my three-layer mascara deep lashes. They also feel soft and hydrating on the skin.
I don’t feel these are a tough cleanse for a full day of skin makeup, but they are certainly good for on the go, removing mascara or when you don’t have access to your full cleansing routine.
Where to buy?
These retail at around £3.99 for 30 and you can buy them online from various different UK retailers. They also come in different formulations for different skin types.
Well, there you go. Eco-friendly beauty wipes. So if you can, ditch the £0.99p alternatives that cannot decompose and just do a little bit to help the environment.
We can’t all do everything, but we can all do something.
